Allsorts DT #161 Blooming flowers!

Happy weekend all,
I'm so glad it's finally the weekend, after working all week I'm definitely ready for a rest! My card this week was finished at the last minute as not only have I been doing extra hours at the preschool, but I was out last Saturday night, Monday night and Wednesday night so not an awful lot of time to do what I like doing best - craft and hanging out in blogland.
Anyhoo, it's Saturday so it's another fab
Allsorts
challenge, brought to you by the lovely Helene, who wants to see those gorgeous
blooms
on your cards and projects - so easy right? I thought Jo's wonderful challenge last week was easy enough but flowers is another thing my cards can''t do without!
This week, with TOMIC's tag and flowers challenge in mind I made a tag card:

Supplies:
Magnolia Tilda with Wiola coloured using DI's (another stamp that I borrowed from my friend Fleur x)
SU baja breeze seam binding
WOC flowers and doily
Magnolia Tildas lace border doohickey
Papers - Little yellow bicycle and BG
Spellbinders nestie labels twenty three
flower charm from stash

Challenges:
TOMIC - tag and Magnolia flowers
DOC - Welcome Summer

Thanks for popping by and taking a look at what I've made and I hope you have time to join in with us this week at Allsorts with what promises to be a very popular theme!
Please scroll down to see yesterday's Fussy and Fancy card that I made.
Hugs,

Fussy and Fancy DT # 66

Hi everyone,
A really quick post from me this morning before I get the kids ready for school/playschool. It's the start of a new challenge over at
today which is one of my favourites:
Fancy Folds!
I love creating unusual shaped cards and intricately folded ones and although the card I've done isn't anything that hasn't been done before, I still have fun doing it. It's a napkin fold card and although I can't remember where I got the instructions for it, if you google napkin fold I'm sure it comes up. Usually you start with 12"x12" cardstock but I didn't have any left so I scaled it down to an 8"x8" piece, and I think I like this size better - so happy accident! The papers I used were from Nitwits crab apple collection, I decided to be a bit different and have my image on the inside so I could just have a big flower (made with a WOC flower and doohickey peony petal die) on the belly band, and I've tucked a little doohickey tag behind the band too.

The sentiment square is nestie lacey square and Magnolia's Princess Party Tilda is borrowed from my special friend Fleur (thanx so much!)

Got to rush, thanks for visiting me today, hope you can join us at Fussy and Fancy this fortnight and I will see you again tomorrow with my new Allsorts creation!
Hugs,

Allsorts DT challenge 159

Morning all,
I can't believe that it's been a whole week since my last post, but this week has just flown for me. I've worked four out of the five days as we are a staff member short at preschool, plus I've helped to interview applicants for the job vacancy that we have, so I'm worn out and ready for the weekend! Last weekend I was equally tired as I spent eight hours on the Saturday fundraising for the preschool at the local carnival, it was really windy and we only made £100 all day, but it was more than we would have got if we hadn't done it so it was still worth it.

It's my turn over at
this week to host the challenge and I've decided to go with
Paper piecing and piercing,
now there's a tongue twister if ever there was one!
I love paper piecing, and it used to save me no end of stamped out images, as if I wasn't happy with my colouring it didn't have to go in the bin if I could paper piece over it lol! That doesn't happen very often now as I'm a bit of a perfectionist and try to improve on my colouring continuously, but occasionally I still like to paper piece just for the different look I get from it - especially with all the stunning papers to be used out there, you can't beat a beautiful patterned or textured DP to jazz up an image.
Anyway, I digress as always, here's what I came up with:

Supplies:
Go Kreate shaped card die
Nesties Fleur de lis die
LOTV image Milly flower power with paper pieced shoes, leggings, dress, and flower
TH Butterflight die
Magnolia papers and doohickeys - tag and peony petals
SU Baja breeze seam binding
Hobby house gems
Marianne creatable rolled flowers

Challenges that I would love to enter:
Lili's little fairies - In the garden
Sir Stampalot - Bingo line: Turquoise, lilac/purple, and handmade flowers
Bunny Zoes - Girls, girls, girls
Wags and Whiskers - Paper piecing

Have a wonderful weekend and I hope you find time to enter my Allsorts challenge, all the details are on the Allsorts blog along with the rest of the amazing DT inspiration.
Hugs,

Allsorts DT #158 Ice cream colour inspiration

Morning everyone,
Are you all ready for a brand new
Allsorts challenge?
This week my lovely teamie Emma has given us an
Ice cream colour theme
and I had such fun creating the card that I have to show you today. I think I've got quite a few ice cream colours on there and probably a few extra besides! Definitely chocolate, strawberry, mint and vanilla....
As I don't have enough background stamps I did another free hand design of a little ice cream cart, and the dark edges were a happy accident as I started distressing the edges in Vintage photo DI and I didn't like it so I went over it again with Stormy sky and loved it!

a better view of the otherwise hidden tag

the fun angle to show the depth to the card

Supplies:
Magnolia Tilda with kite - Sweet rainbow collection
Go Kreate shaped card die
Magnolia papers - Blue campion and bumble bee
Magnolia doohickey's tag, cloud, Tildas lace border and peony petal
SU and whimsy mini stamp sentiments
SU photo corner punch
Marianne creatable rolled flowers
1 large pink Magnolia flower
2 small WOC pink roses
ice cream charm, pearls and ribbon
Nesties foliage die

Challenge to enter:
TOMIC's 1st Anniversary - Anything Goes

I'm off to our local village carnival today as I've been volunteered to set up and run the stall for the preschool that I'm chairperson for, I got everything ready for it earlier in the week so it should go smoothly if all goes to plan! All we need now is for the weather to behave, it's been dreadful for half term and me and the kids have got a touch of cabin fever but hurrah for the weekend LOL!

I hope you are inspired to join us at Allsorts this week, don't forget to pop over to the main Allsorts blog for all the challenge details, prize and the rest of the gorgeous DT inspirational creations!

Whoops, nearly forgot to say that, whether you played along or not to my little teaser on my last post, as promised I have the answer to the question I asked. Could anyone tell which Tilda I used for the passport photo? Christa, you were the only one who guessed that it was Tilda holding flowers -  Be my Valentine Tilda to be exact! Thank you Christa for humoring me LOL!
Have a fab weekend everyone, whatever you are doing....
Hugs,

Tilda's passport

Happy Bank Holiday!
I hope everyone's enjoying the Jubilee Bank Holiday if you are in the uk, it's a good job we didn't have a street party though as yesterday was cold, wet and miserable!
I managed to finish a card yesterday to enter in a few of my favourite challenges:

TOMIC - Sketch and summer holiday theme (next week is TOMIC's first birthday and it's going to be an extra special challenge with lots of prizes - I can't wait to see what that's all about!)
Just Magnolia - Anything Goes (optional add a doily)
MDUC - Seeing Double

I made a criss cross designed wallet, incorporated the TOMIC sketch on the front, and made the insert into a passport style card continuing with the holiday theme from the beach holiday image of Tilda on the front. I used the cloud doohickey on this insert which can still be seen even when the insert is tucked away inside and I also masked a couple of soft clouds on the main image of Surf Tilda. I wonder if anyone can guess which Tilda I used for her passport photo? The insert also has a tag book which Tilda can get stamped when she's visited different countries lol!

Supplies:
Magnolia paper - Summer Memories Row the Boat
MME Kraft
Corrugated card
Pin and largest flower kindly given to me by Brenda (thank you x)
Magnolia Tilda images x2 Surf Tilda and ? I wont spoil it for those of you who want to guess which Tilda I used and will tell you in my next post!
Hobby house dusky pink gems
Magnolia doohickey's - tag, cloud and stitched scalloped lace
Whimsy mini stamp sentiments
SU circular stamps and stitch stamp
TH flower ribbon

Please scroll down to see my creation this week for Allsorts' seaside theme.

Thanks so much for taking a look at my card today, your comments continue to inspire me. I hope you have a wonderful week!

Allsorts DT #157 and blog hop candy winner

Morning all,
It looks like you all enjoyed last week's blog hop over at Allsorts, it was a great way to celebrate our Third Birthday, check out last night's post to see if you were a winner/Top 5 entrant. As for my candy, without further ado I can now reveal that the winner picked out of the hat by Random Org is:
xxxxxx
xxxx
xx
x
#72 Alethea
Congratulations Alethea! Please mail me your postal address to nicolajacklinis@live.co.uk so I can pop your prize in the post.

Now onto this week's
Allsorts
challenge as set by my fab teamie and friend Fleur, who has named it
'Oh I do like to be beside the seaside'!
I actually do love the seaside and making seaside cards so I was in my element with this theme. (I know, I say this most weeks lol!)

As I only have one seaside background scene and it didn't go with this image I thought I would have a go at freehand drawing my own background and I'm fairly pleased with how it turned out....

The waves are created using Tim Holtz Scrollwork die and I bent some of the edges back to look like white foam, there are two layers of these waves but not very easy to see.
The beach hut 'wings' at either side overhang the edges of the card and turn in slightly.

Supplies:
Go Kreate shaped card die
Nestie lacey square
Nitwits papers
LOTV sentiment
Whimsy Postcard stamp on SU paper
Magnolia Tilda in key largo with my own beach hut background
knotted string, lace and shell charm from stash

Challenge I would like to enter:
Magnolialicious Highlights - Water, water everywhere

Don't forget the main Allsorts challenge blog is the place to get all the latest info on this new challenge and there is some amazing inspiration from the other Dt members too!
Thanks so much for stopping by and for all your lovely comments, scroll down for yesterday's new Fussy and Fancy creation and I may be back tomorrow or Monday if I finish my latest project in time to enter another challenge.....

Fussy and Fancy DT Flourishes and Swirls

Morning everyone,
I firstly want to thank everyone who commented on my Allsorts blog hop card last week, I loved reading each and every one and I'm just sorry that I haven't had time to visit you all back, it was great to see so many of you enjoying the hop though and I will be back later to announce who won my candy!
Hope you are looking forward to the long weekend (if in the UK), for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. My two sons, Joshua and Callum, can wear red, white and blue at school today and Jasmine and I are meeting them at lunchtime for a picnic. I can't think of a better end to the term and we're all ready for the week off too!

As it's Friday, it's a new
 Fussy and Fancy challenge
 and this fortnight it's
 Flourishes and Swirls.

I have done a circular side step easel which complements my big Tim Holtz elegant flourishes perfectly! You can't really see the side step very clearly from the photo's but it's to the right of the image and looks fab IRL.
The LOTV image Blossom is the other one that I was lucky enough to win from Lili's Little Fairies challenge a couple of week's ago and I was delighted to discover yesterday that I was picked for one of their Top 3 from last week's challenge! I'm honoured that anyone thinks my creations are that good as I'm a typical self critical crafter and never believe my work is good enough.

I made a tag in coordinating colours:

A better look at the bottom part of the easel:

Supplies:
Grand Nesties Scalloped circle
Nesties lacey square and labels twenty three?
Tim Holtz Elegant flourishes and weathered clock dies
LOTV image Blossom coloured in Distress inks
SU paper and 'For You' sentiment
Marianne creatable rolled flowers
Magnolia Heart Swirl Branch die
Kraft paper is either MME or BG, can't remember which as they've got mixed up together

Challenge I would love to enter:
Lili's Little fairies - Anything Goes

Thanks for taking a look at my card and I hope you are inspired to join in with us this fortnight. I will be back tomorrow to show you what I made for Allsorts this coming week.
Hugs,
