DT - Marvelous Magnolia - Anything Goes

Hi,
Here's a quick reminder that you have nearly a week to still enter
magnificent challenge which this time round is
 Anything Goes!
So whatever Magnolia project you've got on the go at the moment would fit the criteria and we love seeing how creative you can get, so what are you waiting for?

This is a card I have made for my OH's birthday which is coming up next week.....

I must admit, it's totally different from what I usually make - no flowers or anything girly, but I enjoyed making it just as much! Most of the papers are Stampin Up, I think the newspaper print might be Bazzil but not sure. I masked Castle Guard Edwin with Afternoon Tea plant, coloured the scene with distress inks, cut out using Spellbinders labels twenty three and layered up with Spellbinders Fleur de Lis Square. I heavily gold frantaged around the image and on the Fleur de Lis frame. I machine stitched the newspaper layer and used SU's spiral punch on it too. The sentiment and mini tags are also SU. As well as using Magnolia's lovely fence DooHickey, I also used the flag pole DooHickey, cut from thin gold metal. The top shape of the card is part of a Go Kreate die.

You can't really see but, I did a bit of a cross between decoupage and paper piecing on Edwins belt to make it stand off the image and I added glossy accents to his shoes.
Thanks for visiting today it means so much! Check out my teamies inspiration - it's all so gorgeous!

Debut Deep Ocean DT creation - Stitching True or false

Helloooo,
I'm soooooo excited to be posting this giftbag tonight as it's my first creation as a Deep Ocean challenge DT member!!! I can't believe it, I haven't come back down to earth yet and I'm so in awe of my uber talented teamies -  I hope I don't let the side down!
So without further ado,
 new challenge is
 Stitching - True or False!
What a cracker of a theme - you can either get busy with the sewing machine or creative with a pen. In fact I decided to do a bit of both!

Dies used: Magnolia DooHickeys: umbrella, fence, scalloped tag, vintage lace
Tim Holtz Butterflight, Spellbinders Labels sixteen and Fleur de Lis square.
Paper are Maja 4th May and 7th April
Flowers are WOC and the leaves are another Spellbinder die
Other embellies: Magnolia KnickKnackerys gems, lace, cheesecloth, seam binding and some gorgeous Melissa Frances ruffled ribbon.

I coloured Magnolia's Little London Tilda with distress inks, added Magnolia postmark stamps and Shabby White Frantage and machine stitched around the edges. I penned some black stitches onto the layer underneath Tilda.

I couldn't resist adding glossy accents on the raindrops!

We are sponsored by the awesome Ribbon Girl
and you could win this fantastic prize:

Thanks so much for visiting my blog, sorry the post is a bit late, my kids wanted to go for a bike ride after tea tonight and put me behind with all my other jobs!
I do hope you can join us with some real or false stitching, I'm sure you will agree with me that my teamies inspiration pieces are magnificent!

Challenges I would like to enter:
Bunny Zoes - Distressing
Totally Tilda - Over the Garden Fence

Simply Magnolia DT - Gorgeous Blooms

HAPPY EASTER!
I hope you are all having a lovely Easter weekend whatever you have planned.
I've made an easel box for Simply Magnolia's challenge starting today....
Gorgeous Blooms!
What a fab challenge theme, I don't know about you but I can't make anything without adding a few flowers here and there!

I made the box approx. 4.5"x 4.5" to fit onto the Go Kreate shaped base. Papers are all Magnolia.

From this angle the box looks off centre on the base but it isn't so it must be the shape of the base that gives that illusion - weird!
I didn't make this with anything special in mind, but I'll either keep it to put die cuts in pre-cut ready to embellish or sell it.

There's a lot going on on the card part of the box lol! I coloured Magnolia's Tulip Wheelbarrow and Bunny Prince with Distress Inks. DooHickeys around this scene are Tilda's Ticket, tag, grass, swirl heart branch, flags and Tilda's lace. Flowers are WOC and the resin corner is Prima Junkyard from Live and Love crafts.

The base of the easel shows off more WOC flowers and a handmade flower I made at Lillemor's workshop when I visited Magnolia, Sweden.

I hope my creation (and those of my fellow teamies) have inspired you to make something adorable for our Gorgeous Blooms Magnolia challenge.....
We are lucky to be sponsored this fortnight by:

Summer Memories holiday file

Hello, wow I can't believe I've come to the end of my marathon of posts! Four in as many days - must be a world record! My children's favourite thing to do on holiday is swimming, wherever we go a water park close by is a must!

Swimming Tilda is coloured with the trusty distress inks. Glossy accents were added to Tilda's goggles and plenty of pearls, pearl pen detail and pearl string around the machine stitched image on a Spellbinders Lacey Circle nestie. Cheesecloth, shells and moss are from my stash. The 'seaweed' is a Spellbinders foliage die.

I turned  two layers of Magnolia paper back at the top LH corner to imitate waves and splashed white acrylic paint here and there.

I would like to enter my card into Deep Ocean Challenge - Inspired by a Movie 'Waterworld' with Kevin Costner

Here is the complete set with the box that the cards go in as well, hope you like my Summer Memories Box file. Thanks for visiting me today, your comments mean so much!

Memories to treasure

Hi there! I've got the second card out of my Summer holiday file today. Scroll down if you want to see the original post which kicked off this set for Marvelous Magnolia's DT project of Ribbon or Bow. This set wouldn't be complete without Tilda walking Wiola, it's such a sweet summer stamp. It depicts something that our family do all the time but there's nothing better than going for a long dog walk on a warm summers day. The only problem is our dog is a bit bigger than Wiola lol!

Tilda and Wiola are coloured as always with distress inks and I stamped the edges again with Magnolia's postmark stamps. Papers are Magnolia and Nitwit, the Doohickey is Antique Lace and there's also another Tim Holtz chitchat sticker.

This is our Boxer - Cocoa, she was two in December and mad as a hatter lol! She doesn't like having her photo taken and every time I point the camera at her she launches herself at me so I took this one really quickly :D

I'll be back again tomorrow with the last of my cards that completes the set, thanks for visiting today.....

Summer Dreams

Hi, I'm back as promised to show you the first of three cards that went into a box I made for my Marvelous Magnolia DT project following the current Ribbon or Bow challenge, please scroll down if you want to see the finished article. There is a strong Summer holiday theme throughout the project and this card represents the bike riding that we love to do as a family particularly when the weather gets warmer.

I had so much fun colouring Tilda on the road with distress inks. I finished the image off with some postmark stamping around the edges, randomly added shabby white frantage and inked the edges with walnut stain distress ink. Papers are Magnolia and Stampin Up. The bulldog clip, chit chat sticker and divider die are all Tim Holtz.

I roughly machine stitched round the edge of the card twice.

Thanks for visiting my blog today, hope you like my cycling inspired card. I'll be back again tomorrow with the middle card, depicting something else my family and I like to do in the summer (which we do all year round in fact).

DT - Midway Marvelous Magnolia - Ribbon or Bow

Hi, hope you're all enjoying our current challenge over at
Ribbon or Bow.
I'm here to remind you that there is almost a full week left to enter your beautiful creations, so what are you waiting for?

The project I've got to show you today was something I made for the last Magnolia Ink competition and with that in mind I created a summer holiday file comprising of a box file and three divider cards. As it's a lot of work and too many photos for one post I've decided to split it into four posts over the next four days. So today's post is dedicated to the box file.

I coloured Magnolia's Welcome to a lovely home with distress inks, postmark stamps also Magnolia. DooHickeys used: antique lace, lovely fence, foliage.
Flowers are WOC, the brad is Stampin Up, main shape is created using a Go Kreate die and the papers are Maja design. The ribbon is wired and I love it as it can be shaped any way you want it  - happy days for me as I can usually be found wrestling with ribbon for ages trying to achieve the perfect bow lol!

I made a box to be sandwiched between the two Go Kreate shapes with an opening at the side for the cards.

I splashed plenty of white acrylic paint about!

The house represents holiday cottages past, present and future that we visit and use as a base when on holiday. The cards inside have Tilda doing just a few of the things that we like to do as a family (and not just when we are on holiday or in the summer either - although they are a lot more fun to do on a warm summers day!)

.....and there's a sneak peak of the cards inside. I'll be back tomorrow with the first of them!
I do hope you can join us with a ribbon or bow somewhere on your Magnolia creation. If you have time take a look at what my teamies have made, you wont be disappointed!

DT Simply Magnolia - Easter

Hi everyone,
First proper day of the Easter holidays for most kids in the UK and it's raining! Typical British weather then lol!
Maybe the card I have to show you can help coax the sun out for later in the week :D
We have a brand new challenge for you over at
Easter!
All you have to do is make sure that along with your Magnolia image you include things related to Easter such as rabbits, chicks, Easter eggs etc.
I love my Easter Maggies, and got a little bit carried away with this card, colouring FOUR images lol! I just couldn't decide between them so I thought what the heck I'll go with all four!
It started off as a traditional shaped centre step card but its shape changed somewhat as I added extras along the way.

Images: Magnolia Tilda withMr Rooster, Tilda and her bunny, Tilda with newly hatched chick and Happy Easter background - all coloured with Distress inks (you'll have to excuse the terrible colouring this time as I had big problems with my Langton hot pressed watercolour paper for some reason :(
Magnolia DooHickeys: scalloped tag, lovely fence, grass edge, cloud
Also used Magnolia chicken wire stamp, Spellbinders Labels twenty three for the sides covered in cheesecloth, lace and seam binding, shabby white frantage, and glossy accents for the raindrops.

The sentiment is from an old Forever friends spring collection and the flower stamped edge is an Stamping Up stamp. All the butterflies are from an SU embossed die. The pink paper on the butterflies is Magnolia Rose - Easter Blessing but the other papers are from my stash so I don't know who they're by :(

Hope I've inspired you to join in with our Easter challenge, check out my teamies creations - they're awesome!
Our lovely sponsor this time is:

I would like to enter the following challenges:
Midweek Magnolias - Easter with option of adding bunnies
Tildas Town - Clean and Layered or Fussy and Fancy
Inky chicks - butterflies

Thanks for visiting me today, I'll be back on Thursday for my midway reminder for Marvelous Magnolia, so until then have a great week!
Hugs,
