Anyone for cake?

Morning blogging friends,
I had time to make something extra this week, so I'm here to show you it this morning before I start my mountain of jobs: tidying the garden, preparing Jasmine's room for redecorating, washing, and helping the boys with their homework!
I made a piece of cake to compliment the tag I created and am really pleased with how it all came together.

The extra layers of paper lace are still using the Magnolia DooHickey tag. I also used the Heart Swirl Branch DooHickey, a small 'Made with Love' charm and a pale pink feather. The Magnolia Mini is Congratulation Tilda.

I gave my tag an 'inside' too, with a few dusky pink gems, stamped swirl and more lace from bottom of tag detail:

The 'chocolate cake' is brown ultra fine flower soft. Flowers are WOC. The lace around the top is recycled from old clothes, the ribbons are Tim Holtz.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

TOMIC - DooHickeys and Mini Magnolia
Just Magnolia - Pastels

Hope you like my creations, thanks for popping by today, scroll down to see yesterday's new Allsorts card.
See you next Saturday with next week's Allsorts DT project, in the mean time have a great week!
Hugs,

Allsorts DT Wk 151 Sketch

Hi everyone,
Peace has broken out in my household now that school's back in and we are all happier in our term time routine, especially as the weather was so bad in the easter hols that we couldn't get out much anyway. Coupled with that our car kept breaking down so that made going anywhere slightly risky, however last weekend we got another car so happy days are here again all round - hooray!

Today sees the start of a new
challenge! Our lovely Emma has given us a
sketch
to work with this week and I must admit I got slightly carried away so I hope you can still see the original sketch in my card :)
I turned the corner over twice and made a tag pocket. I used one piece of double sided SU paper so that it coordinated better at the turned back corner. I must confess that the LOTV image - New Hat didn't colour very well on the water colour paper I used (not my usual) and the red and black dress bled in a few places but I didn't have enough time to do it again and I was pleased with it on the whole so I left it (just don't look too closely lol!)

The only thing that's different from the picture of my card on the Allsorts blog is that I've added a few diamond gems so that I can enter:
Lili's little Fairies challenge - Diamonds and Pearls

Other supplies used:
Magnolia DooHickey tag and antique lace
Marianne Creatable rolled flowers die
SU photo corner punch
Nesties Lacey square and foliage

This is the sketch to follow over at Allsorts, pop over to the main challenge blog for all the details and the rest of the wonderful DT inspiration.

Thanks for stopping by today, your comments are so appreciated. I hope you find time to join us at Allsorts this week, I will be back tomorrow to show you something extra I had time to make the other day.
Hugs,

Allsorts DT Wk 150 Buttons and Threads

Morning all and welcome to another
 challenge!
This week our lovely Fleur is hosting and has chosen the fab theme of
Buttons and Threads.

I decided to make a circular button box, I hope you like it!
As you can see, it has an easel image on the lid, as I can't make anything without an image stuck or hanging from it somewhere!

I did add glossy accents to Tilda's wings and pink stickles to the butterfly, and this photo attempts to show this (poorly!) But it does give a better view of the button centred flower acting as my easel support.

Supplies:
Magnolia Butterfly Dreams - Beautiful Tilda
Nesties Lacey circles
Magnolia Turquoise Heart paper and Doo Hickey Peony petal die
SU Seam binding

Thanks for taking a look, pop over to Allsorts blog for all the details of this week's challenge including prize and more wonderful DT inspiration!

TOMIC challenge #45 Criss cross card

A Happy Friday 13th to everyone!
I've got an extra card to show today, as I had time to spare from my DT projects to enter
  TOMIC
again this week, I love their challenges so much! This week it's - make a
Criss cross card using a new image from the latest Prince and Princesses collection!

As I only have Baby Edwin so far from this collection I made a baby's first birthday card:

I left the right hand edge unglued so the centre can display a message or have a photo/keepsakes tucked in there.....

As usual the photo's don't do the card justice, you'll have to take my word for it that the tiny charm hung from the tag says 'made with love' (thanks Fleur for giving me these adorable charms!)
You might just be able to see that the ribbon is tied to a ring on the tag:

I would also like to enter:
Just Magnolia - Lovely Lace and DT call - (I just hope the Doo Hickey lace qualifies as I couldn't bring myself to add proper lace to a boy's card and I SO want to be considered for the DT position!)
Magnolialicious Highlights - Baby project or Baby Gift set

Supplies:
Magnolia Baby Edwin coloured with DI's
Magnolia Doo Hickey Peony petal, tag, Tildas lace border and antique lace
SU paper, linen thread, seam binding and gems
Nesties labels twenty two
WOC flowers
TH swirl die
MME Kraft
Go Kreate shaped card die

Thanks for taking a look, your comments mean so much, and I will be back tomorrow with my Allsorts creation for this coming week.

Fussy and Fancy Challenge 60 - Sketch

Happy Friday everyone,
Hope you are all enjoying the easter hols despite the weather, we had a touch of cabin fever by Wednesday as the rain kept coming.....Typical, the last week of term the sun was cracking the flags, but as soon as we get time to spend together, it pours it down!
Not to be deterred by the horrible weather we have been making the most of the lack of routine, catching up with friends and doing easter make and do activities. It's just great not to have to get up and be somewhere by a certain time!
Anywho, I digress, on to the reason for this post.....
have a new challenge this fortnight
a fab
 sketch
to be precise!

I'm afraid I had to be different and flipped the sketch upside down so I could make the lace edged piece into a tag pocket, so here is my take on the sketch:

A photo showing the tag:

I made this card for my lovely friend Fleur, her birthday was on Wednesday and so it's the first time I've managed to give her a card before I post it on my blog!
I was really pleased as I finally got around to using my sewing machine and sewed a few panels on this card.  I've tried since to do the same on other cards and my machine has decided not to work properly :( so it's back to the drawing board for a while until I've calmed down enough to go back to it so I don't throw it through the nearest window!

The Fussy and Fancy sketch is:
