Anything Goes - Marvelous Magnolia DT

Hi! I hope this scheduled post goes live when it should, as I should be in Holland right now (pics to follow when I get home!)
This is my last creation as a Marvelous Magnolia design team member, I've loved every second and enjoyed seeing everyone's creations every week, so it's a sad farewell. I've decided not to reapply this time so I can concentrate on my other DT work and my commitment to running the Simply Magnolia challenge blog. I wish everyone entering the DT call the best of luck and hope whoever is picked enjoys their term on the team as much as I did.
So, with all that said, I'd better get on with telling you about the challenge......

Travel/holiday @ Simply Magnolia

Hellooooo, thanks so much for popping by, this is my DT creation for
Simply Magnolia's current challenge

'Travel/Holiday'

As I'm on holiday myself at the minute, I thought it appropriate to have a holiday/travel themed challenge. It doesn't even have to be a summer holiday that inspires you, it could be a winter holiday - another Christmas card opportunity lol!
Anyway, I decided to go with a beach/tag style creation and loving these new Tildas at the moment:

I paper pieced Tildas scarf using Maja paper.

Supplies:
Magnolia Tilda with flags, coloured with distress inks with shabby blue frantage around edge
Whimsey postcard stamp
Magnolia doohickey flag
seam binding and string from stash

Our fantastic sponsor this fortnight is Crafty Ribbons
with this great prize

Thanks for visiting me today, I'll be back tomorrow with my Marvelous Magnolia midway inspiration.

Deep Ocean DT - Something Sweet

Hi everyone,
It's time to celebrate another new challenge over at
and this fortnight the theme is
'Something Sweet'
This instantly made me think of sweet treats to eat and the last time we visited a certain fast food restaurant we had chocolate muffins that came in these cute mini paper bags....needless to say I kept the bags thinking they would be fab to decorate and here is the end result....

Although the 'M' stands for the fast food restaurant, it also stands for Magnolia so instead of covering it I thought I would make a feature of it front and back.

Supplies:
Magnolia paper - Red Rose Ornament
Magnolia Doohickeys - Tilda lace die, swirl
Spellbinders beaded oval
Magnolia Tilda with big ice cream - coloured with distress inks, glossy accents on ice cream
WOC flowers
Prima resin frame
Pearls, cheesecloth, pom pom ribbon from stash

Our wonderful sponsor is the Ribbon Girl

Tilda plus a sentiment - Marvelous Magnolia DT

Hi everyone,
I've got a new creation to show you today for
with a midway reminder to let you know that you still have about a week left to enter our current challenge....
'Tilda plus any sentiment'
How easy is that?!

Go Kreate base die gave my card it's shape, I created a pocket for two tags centre top. Papers are Magnolia, lined paper from a notebook. Both tags are covered front and back with one of each sides shown.
Flowers are WOC as usual, leaves are a spellbinders die, I used plenty of white acrylic paint, the lace and cheesecloth are from my stash. Magnolia doohickeys used are: butterfly, cloud and tag.

Tilda with fantasy flower is coloured with distress inks with plenty of shabby white frantage. I cut the image out using Spellbinders beaded ovals and cut half of the beaded edge away to leave plain oval.

I cut the butterfly out several times with plain white card, lilac and turquoise papers and layered up, finishing off with different sized gems and white acrylic paint.

As you know we are lucky to be sponsored by:
Powered by Zen Cart :: The Art of E-Commerce

Challenges I would like to enter:
Tildas Town - Celebrate summer
Magnolia-licious - Anything Goes
MDUC - Shabby Chic
Bunny Zoes - Summer colours

Thanks for visiting my blog, your comments are always appreciated!
I'll be back on Sunday with my Simply Magnolia inspiration.

Christmas in August - Deep Ocean DT

Evening all,
As it's Tuesday it's time for a new

This fortnight it's all about....

'Christmas in August.'
and the prize is another GDT spot with us!

I've got into the swing of doing a few Christmas bits and pieces now so it doesn't seem so alien to think 'Christmas' every now and again.
As LOTV have the same theme this month, it was the perfect opportunity to use one of their beautiful Christmas stamps that have had for ages and haven't had the chance to ink up until now. I had great fun colouring it in and it gave me the idea to add it to an advent box (made out of an old delivery box)

LOTV Christmas cupboard coloured with Distress Inks, silver gel pen detail and machine stitched edges
Papers - Magnolia
Magnolia DooHickeys - flag and poinsettia (the 'leaves' are green poinsettia doohickey cut up)
Sentiment stamp - Magnolia
Pom pom ribbon and bead string from stash

I cut each window for the matchbox drawers, covered the fronts with coordinating papers and adding different brads for handles

I did a 'patchwork' lid using more of the beautiful Magnolia Christmas papers

Challenge I would like to enter:

 Christmas in August

Thanks for visiting my blog! Hope you can join us at Deep Ocean Challenge this fortnight!
I will be back with my Marvelous Magnolia creation on Thursday, so until then continue having a lovely crafty week!
Hugs,

On the beach @ Simply Magnolia

Morning everyone,
Our current challenge over at
 is still
 'On the Beach'
and so you still have nearly a week left to enter your seaside projects!
I love the summer challenges, seaside ones in particular, but I think I need a few more summer Tildas as I only have a few!

The boat is another of my invented creations, making it completely from scratch. I drew a boat shape onto white card, cut two strips of white card to build the sides - scoring along the length top and bottom so the top could be folded over. I made lots of close cuts along the length before folding along the other score line to be able to shape the sides when glueing to the base.
The paper inside the bottom of the boat is Nitwits digi. The paper on the outside of the boat and the boat's seat are Maja and the paper on the easel is Raspberry road digi. Paper on the flags is Magnolia.

The easel itself is quite plain, the beach paper giving the perfect backdrop to the boat. Magnolia Salute Tilda is coloured with distress inks and cut out to stand on the edge of the upturned boat. Magnolia doohickeys used were flags and fence. The oars are wooden coffee stirrers, just adding a roughly oar shaped end to one and blinging up with pearls. The fishing net is material from my stash.

The finishing touch holding the boat in place are the collection of decorative shells and a Tim Holtz bottle filled with more smaller shells and two different colours of flower soft.

Our fab sponsor this time is Magnolia-licious
with this wonderful prize:

Challenges I would love to enter:
Ribbon Girl - Anything but a square
MDUC - Anything Goes (3rd entry)
Midweek Magnolias - Easel cards

Thanks for visiting me today, I really hope you can join us at Simply Magnolia this time, I love seeing all your awesome creations!
Have a fantastic week ahead....
Hugs,
