Week 121 - Alter/recycle Allsorts DT

Morning all,
Firstly I must apologise for being quiet on the comment front, I love visiting all your blogs to see what you've been creating but it just hasn't happened this week, hopefully things will be back to normal next week! Also welcome to my new followers, I will get round to visiting you, I promise!
What a week I have had! Some of you may remember way back me saying my eldest son had to have a foot operation to remove a blood vessel. This didn't happen when it should have, so we had to take him this Wednesday to Addenbrooks and it finally got done. The nursing staff there were absolutely brilliant and put us all at ease - I think I was more traumatised than Josh, especially when it came to the General Anaesthetic!!!
Needless to say Joshua was extremely brave and is enjoying his week off school and all the attention he's getting from his class mates!
Anyway, on to the real reason for my post: over at
 Allsorts
it's my turn to host this week's challenge which is:
Alter or Recycle Something!
Hope you can join in as I really cant wait to see what all you talented crafters do with my theme.
I was so spoilt for choice with this challenge, as I cant bear to throw interesting things away that have crafting potential, that it took me a while to settle on a project, hope you like the end result.

It started it's life as a matchbox:

and ended up becoming a recipe box:

The top of the box:

Inside the box with the recipe cards:

Supplies:
SU paper - Elegant Soiree
SU Perfect polka dots embossing folder
Magnolia Doo Hickey Antique lace and tag die
Small book ring
flowers, ribbons and pearls from stash
Hero Arts self adhesive lace
Magnolia rolling pin and Yummy Tummy Jam Tilda (borrowed from Fleur, thanks hun xx)

Allsorts are sponsored this week by:

offering a Little Darlings rubber stamp of choice!

Challenge I would like to enter:
TOMIC - Chocolate (brown and cream)

Hope you can play along with Allsorts this week, check out the other amazing DT inspiration and have a great weekend!
Love,

Hi Nicola.
Thank you for the lovely comments you left for me. I saw you decided to follow me, thank you for that too, I came straight over and looked at your stunning work, I will follow you if thats ok. Hope your Son Josh is feeling better. When my Son was 6 (he is 19 now) when he had really drastic hip surgery, and like you I was worse than him, he was in great pain, but handled it so well for a little boy, makes me want to cry when I think about it. Hope Josh is ok. Debbiexx

Hi Nicola and I hope Joshua is doing OK, I know how it is with the kids, we tend to be more worried than they are :)! I love your altered matchbox and colouring of Tilda which is beautiful. These larger matchboxes are brilliant for altering but I would never have thought to do a recipe theme, what a great idea and I love how you did the recipes on the tags. Take care and have a good week. Hugs, Chris x
