Wk 46 Fussy and Fancy DT - Try a New Technique

Morning blogland,
and welcome to another fortnightly challenge for
This time want to see you
Trying a new technique!

I was fortunate to attend one of Brenda's fabulous classes at Sir Stamp-a-lot last Saturday where I learnt a couple of new techniques and the card I have to show you today was from that class.
I'm not sure what the technique is called, something like block/shadow stamping as two distress inks (tattered rose and tea dye) were put on an acrylic block, water spritzed and then pressed onto a piece of water colour paper. Once this was dry, several different stamps were overlayed on top of one another to build up the main panel. The edges and part of the flowers were highlighted with embossing powder. The edges were also inked with DI Tea Dye/Walnut Stain/Vintage photo. (Apologies for the lack of details, I got so carried away that I forgot to write any info. down) The hinges were a die cut down to fit the card size and also heat embossed and gems were added for effect.

Anyone who knows me will not recognise this as my style of card, wot no Tilda?, and no nesties?! I did have loads of fun making this card and the others at the class but I would miss my Maggies too much to completely change direction. I would like to incorporate techniques I learnt though and combine the styles maybe. Watch this space!

Fussy and Fancy's sponsor this time is Meljens designs offering the winner 4 digis!
Thanks for taking a look, hope you find the time to take a look at the other DT work over at Fussy and Fancy sometime soon and maybe have a go at something new yourself! Enjoy your weekend and I will be back tomorrow morning with my Allsorts DT card.
Love,

Hi Nicola, Well I recognise this!! I think this was my favourite one of the day, although I did enjoy the scene we created once I stopped being scared of the brayer!! It looks wonderful, I think I did too much gold embossing around the edges but yours looks perfect! Pami x
