Vintage with distressing and lace at Fussy and Fancy

Morning everyone,
A quick post from me today as we are taking the kids to Cadbury World today (yummy, my fave place lol!, well the school hols have to be fun for parents too :)
Today also sees the start of a fab new challenge over at

 which this fortnight is

Vintage with Distressing and Lace.

I love this kind of theme and I had a particular photo in mind when designing this creation, it is of my mum when she was about four years old in 1940. I kept the colours fairly neutral in keeping with the photo and the panel to the right of the photo is for journalling as I wanted my wall hanging to have the feel of a scrapbook page.
It is currently hanging next to my card making station but I may 'borrow' the hanger to photo future projects as I love it so much!
I tied a lace bow around the hanger but it doesn't show up very well on the piccie. I layered a couple of pieces of torn Prima nature garden papers on a Go Kreate frilly #10 cut piece of Kraft. To the papers I added Magnolia Tildas lace doohickey and wrapped lace around this base. I mounted the photo on the same cardstock as used for the doohickey lace and added cheesecloth and TH dividers die cut from more Kraft underneath. More doohickeys: Tildas ticket and lovely fence were cut out of Kraft as further embellishment. A few flowers, gems, a heart charm and a TH hinge clip completes my scrapbook hanger.

A slightly closer look:

As you can tell I was pleased with the finished result and I even did a quirky shot as I loved taking photos of it. If you know me, this doesn't happen very often, as I don't like taking loads of photos and my mojo has been on the back burner for a while. Hopefully this was just the challenge to perk me up and inspire me to be more creative.

Thanks for popping by today and leaving me such inspiring comments. I hope you have as much fun as I did with this challenge, you will find loads of wonderful DT inspiration over at Fussy and Fancy Friday challenge blog to help get you started!
Hugs,
